Imomiddin Tashov, director of a construction company, detained in Kyrgyzstan for suspected involvement in a coup plot after illegally entering from the Kazakh border

Kyrgyzstan’s security forces have detained Imomiddin Tashov, the director of a construction company, on suspicion of orchestrating a coup through a mass uprising. This information was confirmed by a statement from the Press Center of the National Security State Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

Tashov’s arrest follows an operation conducted by security forces after he illegally entered the country from the Kazakh border.

The statement emphasized that Tashov was accused of inciting the public to uprising via social media platforms to seize power and of preparing to finance a coup.

Security forces had conducted an operation against a group suspected of plotting a coup in January. The National Security State Committee had issued a warrant for Tashov’s arrest.

Kyrgyzstan is known for experiencing frequent changes in leadership due to societal movements.
