Tokayev has temporarily assigned the prime minister’s responsibilities to First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Monday has taken a significant political step by signing a decree accepting the resignation of his country’s government.

The move, outlined in the decree published by the Kazakh presidency, is by Article 70 of the country’s constitution.

As a result of the decision, President Tokayev has temporarily assigned the prime minister’s responsibilities to First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar.

This transitional period is crucial to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities and to avoid any administrative void in the government.

The decree marks the beginning of a new chapter in Kazakhstan’s political landscape.

It sets the stage for potential reforms and initiatives to shape the country’s trajectory in the coming years.

The international community will watch how Kazakhstan navigates these changes and adapts to evolving geopolitical dynamics.

“Members of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan continue to perform their duties until the approval of the new composition of the Government,” the decree also said.

It added that the decree comes into force from the date of its signing.
