After U.S. President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race, Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her vice-presidential running mate.
The selection of Harris’s vice-presidential candidate had been eagerly anticipated.
Harris has officially become the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate for the upcoming election on Nov. 5, following the final voting results.

Despite her nomination being confirmed, a roll-call vote will still be conducted at the party convention in Chicago.
