Israeli military strikes on 10 Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon
The Israeli army claims its planes hit a militant cell in the town of Qana in the district of Tyre in southern Lebanon
The Israeli military asserted on Thursday that it conducted airstrikes targeting 10 Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon.
“In a series of operations throughout the day, warplanes targeted and destroyed a number of locations in Lebanon,” stated the military in a released statement.
According to the military, approximately 10 targets were hit consecutively, including Hezbollah installations in southern Lebanon.
The targets reportedly included a military facility and reconnaissance center in Ayta ash-Shaab, a reconnaissance center and hostile infrastructure in Mays Al-Jabal, a military facility in Kfar Kila, and two military structures in Naqoura and Houla.
Additionally, the military claimed to have targeted a “militant cell” in Qana, located in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon.
As of 1730 GMT, Hezbollah has not responded to the Israeli military’s assertions. However, earlier today, the group mourned the deaths of two of its members in southern Lebanon due to Israeli fire, bringing the total number of Hezbollah casualties to 299 since October 8, as reported by Anadolu Agency.
Earlier in the day, 2 individuals were reported killed following an Israeli drone strike on a car in southern Lebanon, as reported by the state-run National News Agency. The attack occurred on the road between Ramadiyeh and Qana in the Tyre district.
Tensions have escalated along the Lebanon-Israel border amidst cross-border confrontations between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, amid Israel’s ongoing offensive in the Gaza Strip, which has claimed over 35,200 lives since October, following an attack by Hamas.
