Israeli Forces raid Jenin of Palestine, leaving 5 injured
An Israeli military raid in the northern city of Jenin left five Palestinians injured, according to reports emerged on Monday.
The Palestinian Red Crescent issued a brief statement detailing the raid. It confirmed that Israeli soldiers’ gunfire resulted in injuries to four Palestinians. Additionally, a 55-year-old Palestinian woman was injured when an Israeli military vehicle collided with her private car.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces conducted a search at a currency exchange office in the city center and used tear gas during the operation. Palestinian state television added that the Israeli army declared the area around the currency exchange office a “closed military zone,” preventing medical and first aid teams from assisting those affected by the gas.
The Jerusalem News Network also released footage showing gunfire in Jenin. Reports indicated that Palestinian resistance groups targeted Israeli military vehicles with explosives, resulting in injuries to some Israeli soldiers.
Since the onset of Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023, there has been a significant increase in raids, arrests, and attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. As of now, 604 Palestinians have been killed in these incidents.
