Israeli army announces casualties and arrests in Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital area, with 90 Palestinians killed and 160 detained, amid ongoing clashes

The Israeli army announced Wednesday that 90 Palestinians have been killed in the past two days in Gaza City’s Al-Shifa Hospital and its surrounding areas.

A statement from the Israeli army also mentioned the arrest of 160 individuals, who have been transferred to Israel for further interrogation.

Additionally, around 300 others are currently under interrogation at the hospital site.

According to the statement, Israeli troops continue to engage in fighting in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital.

The statement emphasized that the Israeli army is taking precautions to avoid harm to civilians, patients, medical staff and medical equipment within the hospital.

On Tuesday, the Government Media Office in Gaza reported that those held in Al-Shifa Hospital, including patients and medical teams, are facing shortages of food and water due to the Israeli siege imposed since the army’s raid on the hospital early Monday.

The report also mentioned that approximately 250 Palestinian civilians have been killed and injured in the hospital by Israeli forces.

Since the early hours of Monday, the Israeli army has been conducting an offensive in the area surrounding Al-Shifa Hospital, placing the lives of tens of thousands of Palestinians in the hospital and its vicinity at risk.
