As objections persist over Israel’s assault on the humanitarian relief agency World Central Kitchen’s staff, Israel bombs the office of the U.K.-based relief organization MAP operating in the Gaza Strip

While echoes of Israel’s airstrike killing workers of the global relief organization World Central Kitchen linger, Israeli planes targeted another relief organization.

Israel bombed the premises of the U.K.-based Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) organization on Friday that has been providing assistance to the besieged Gaza Strip. It was announced that the attack rendered the MAP building unusable.

As a result of Israel’s policies, Gaza’s population is suffering from catastrophic levels of hunger and thirst.

Israel hit what it termed a “secure zone”

MAP President Melanie Ward, commenting on the assault, said their office located in an area Israeli authorities purported to be secure was targeted.

Ward also stressed that Israel deliberately targeted aid workers. In her statement, Ward said, “This attack occurred notwithstanding our site being shared with Israeli officials and the complex being in the so-called ‘secure zone.'”

Emphasizing the extreme difficulty of carrying out humanitarian activities in Gaza, Ward remarked, “Gaza is currently the most perilous place to engage in humanitarian work globally. The shared premises of MAP and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) were struck by Israel.”
