Iran mourns President Raisi’s tragic death as funeral takes place in Tabriz
Tens of thousands of people gathered in Tabriz for the funeral ceremony of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who lost his life along with other officials in a tragic helicopter crash on May 19.
While the accident caused a significant stir worldwide, a ceremony is being held in Tabriz for Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahiyan and other officials who lost their lives in the helicopter crash.
With five days of mourning declared in the country, funeral ceremonies for Raisi will also be held in Tehran and Qom. Raisi’s body will be buried near the Imam Reza Tomb in Mashhad on May 23, Thursday.
