Hezbollah launched more than 30 rockets into northern Israel, prompting retaliatory strikes from Israel, which targeted launchers and militant positions in southern Lebanon

Hezbollah launched a barrage of more than 30 rockets toward northern Israel on Friday evening, marking the second consecutive day of such attacks originating from Lebanon.

The rocket fire triggered sirens in northern communities, including Kiryat Shmona. While most rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system or fell in unpopulated areas, there were no reports of injuries or damage.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, asserting that they fired numerous Katyusha rockets. They purportedly aimed at the Israeli Defense Forces’ (IDF) Kela base in the Golan Heights, although the sirens were heard in communities approximately 15 kilometers (9 miles) away.

The IDF retaliated by targeting a rocket launcher utilized in the attack, situated in the southern Lebanese village of Qalaat Debba. Fighter jets also struck another Hezbollah building in Khiam.

Earlier in the day, Israeli fighter jets conducted strikes against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, including a complex housing the group’s operatives in Maroun al-Ras. Additionally, the IDF targeted three more Hezbollah buildings in Yohmor and Naqoura.
