Germany will supply air defense systems to Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, announcing his meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, declared that the Berlin government would supply Patriots to Kiev.
On Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, announcing his meeting with Olaf Scholz, revealed that Germany would supply Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. This decision comes after the U.S. announced its decision to supply air defense systems to Ukraine.
Zelensky, announcing his meeting with Scholz on the social media platform X, said, “I am grateful to the Chancellor for the decision to deliver an additional Patriot air defense system to Ukraine, as well as air defense missiles for existing systems. Thank you, Olaf, for your leadership. This is a genuine show of support for Ukraine in a critical moment.”
In his statement, Zelensky called on all states defending Europe’s security to aid Ukraine.
Additionally, Zelensky emphasized the importance of the peace summit to be held in Switzerland. Regarding the matter, Zelensky said, “I also briefed the Chancellor on the preparations for the inaugural Peace Summit in Switzerland in June. I am grateful to the Chancellor for his willingness to make the summit a great success.”
