Diplomatic reactions

Former Ambassador Umut Arik commented on the broadcast, stating that ARD1’s coverage contributes to visibility. He emphasized that international recognition is not a prerequisite for statehood under international law, suggesting ARD1’s approach reflects a reasonable understanding. Arik highlighted that the TRNC continues to exist according to international law and likened ARD’s stance to that of the Organization of Turkic States.

Call for greater visibility

International Relations Professor Haydar Cakmak praised the broadcast for bringing attention to Cyprus’s situation, which had previously lacked such exposure. He stressed the importance of defending the freedom of the Turkish Cypriot people and called for increased efforts by both Turkey and the TRNC to enhance Cyprus’s visibility on the international stage.
