Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi have received a 14-year prison sentence, following the ex-Pakistani prime minister’s incarceration for 10 years the previous day

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have been given a 14-year jail term for their involvement in the illegal sale of state gifts.

An anti-corruption court in Islamabad delivered the verdict on Wednesday, following Khan’s 10-year sentence in a separate case related to the disclosure of classified information.

Additionally, a three-year prison sentence was imposed on Khan in August for the unauthorized sale of gifts acquired during his tenure as prime minister.

While the sentence was initially suspended, Khan remains incarcerated because of other ongoing legal proceedings.

Government officials have accused Khan’s associates of selling the gifts in Dubai, although Khan maintains the items were acquired through legal means.
