EU disburses $4.5B to Ukraine as part of support package
The European Union (EU) has disbursed €4.2 billion ($4.5 billion) in financial aid to Ukraine as part of its support package.
The European Commission announced that this is the first regular payment from the €50 billion ($54.6 billion) aid package allocated to Ukraine through 2027.
To date, Ukraine has received €12 billion ($13 billion) in funding from the EU’s financial assistance fund.
The aid is contingent on Ukraine meeting criteria in areas such as financial management, public enterprises, business environment, and energy.
The EU’s Ukraine Fund will provide stable financial support of grants and loans totaling €50 billion ($54.6 billion) for the period from 2024 to 2027.
