Drone attack targets TurkStream gas infrastructure: Russian media

Ukraine reportedly launched drone attacks on two gas infrastructure sites in Russia’s Krasnodar region, including a key compressor station connected to the TurkStream pipeline, on Wednesday night, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, as reported by the Russian media outlet RIA Novosti.
The ministry reported that eight drones targeted the Korenovskaya compressor station, which supplies gas to the export pipeline. All drones were destroyed by air defense systems, and no damage was inflicted on the station.
In a separate incident the same night, two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attempted to strike the Temryuk gas distribution station, which supplies the city and port of Temryuk.
Both drones were reportedly destroyed at a safe distance, with no reported impact to operations.

Turkish officials reviewing attack on TurkStream
A diplomatic source in Ankara reportedly confirmed that Türkiye is reviewing reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense concerning the attempted strike on the TurkStream infrastructure.
“We have seen the media reports. The information is currently under review,” the official told Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
TurkStream is a major export pipeline launched in January 2020 that transports Russian gas to Türkiye and, through a second line, to Southern and Southeastern Europe.
With Ukraine having declined to renew its gas transit agreement, TurkStream has become the sole remaining route for Russian gas to Europe.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had previously urged his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, to influence Kyiv following earlier attacks on the project.
“The U.S. unabashedly approves terrorist activities aimed at destroying the foundation of EU energy security and stirs up its Ukrainian clients to target the TurkStream, following the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines,” Lavrov also recently stated.
