Trump claims victory in US election as Republicans secure Senate and House
Republican nominee Donald Trump claimed victory over Democratic nominee Kamala Harris early Wednesday, despite poll results still coming in from key battleground states such as Michigan and Wisconsin.
Trump promises to help the nation heal, vowing to close the border and “fix everything.” He hailed his presidential election as “the most incredible political victory” in U.S. history, declaring, “Nothing like this has ever been seen before.”
Trump emphasized that his party’s historic achievement is aimed at addressing the country’s challenges, framing his speech as a victory declaration for the Republican candidate.
‘This is the golden age for America’
Continuing his speech, Trump declared victory, emphasizing that his upcoming term will mark “the golden age for America.”
“I will fight for you every single day, with every breath in my body,” Trump said, vowing to deliver a strong, safe, and prosperous future for America’s children. “This will truly be the golden age for America.”
Praising the “incredible” MAGA movement, which he called the “greatest political movement of all time,” Trump expressed confidence that it would now reach new heights. “We have a country that needs help very badly,” he said, promising to “fix everything.”
Trump, who appears on the verge of securing the election, added, “This is a political victory,” and thanked the American people for the “extraordinary honor” of being elected both the 47th and 45th president.
“This is a magnificent victory for the American people,” he concluded, reinforcing his pledge to “make America great again.”
Trump praises ‘incredible’ Senate victory
Trump also declared that America has given Republicans a “powerful mandate” and highlighted the party’s success in “taking back control of the Senate.”
He highlighted several key Senate races, attributing the wins in what he called “tough races” to the influence of the “MAGA movement” (Make America Great Again).
“The number of victories in the Senate was absolutely incredible,” Trump said, before adding, “It also looks like we’ll be keeping control of the House of Representatives.”
As the crowd cheered, Trump took a moment to thank his “beautiful wife” Melania, praising her for her hard work and dedication. “She has done a great job,” he said.
Trump says he has ‘a magnificent victory’
Trump goes on to say that this will be the “golden age” of America.
“This is a magnificent victory for the American people, that will allow us to make America great again,” he adds, using his campaign slogan and catchphrase.
Trump has declared victory, although he has not yet achieved the official required electoral college votes.
‘Greatest political comeback of all time,’
J.D. Vance took the stage in West Palm Beach, Florida, to pay tribute to Donald Trump, thanking him for the opportunity to be his running mate.
“I think that we just witnessed the greatest political comeback in the history of the United States of America,” Vance said, rallying the crowd with his praise for Trump.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, we’re never going to stop fighting for you, for your dreams, for the future of your children. And after this greatest political comeback, we’re going to lead the greatest economic comeback in American history.”
Trump, returning to the microphone, praised Vance as a “good choice,” reflecting on initial doubts. “I took a little heat at the beginning, but I knew the brain was a good one, about as good as it gets.”
‘A star is born, Elon’
Donald Trump continued his speech by calling several people to the podium, stating, “Everybody up here is very special.”
As fans in the audience shouted “Elon!” Trump responded, “We have a new star – a star is born, Elon (Musk)!” He praised Musk, recalling their recent time together. “He is an amazing guy. We were sitting together tonight. He spent two weeks in Philadelphia and different parts of Pennsylvania campaigning.”
Trump shared a story about watching a SpaceX rocket launch, highlighting that only Musk could accomplish such feats. “That’s why I love you, Elon,” Trump said. He also praised Musk for using the Starlink communications system to aid in the aftermath of a recent hurricane in North Carolina, a key swing state in the election. “It was great, it saved a lot of lives,” Trump noted. “He saved a lot of lives.”
Trump emphasized the importance of protecting America’s “super geniuses,” adding, “We don’t have that many of them.”
‘I am going to stop wars’
Continuing his speech, Donald Trump vowed to “stop wars,” emphasizing that Republicans are the “party of common sense.” Reflecting on his previous presidency, he said, “We had no wars, for four years we had no wars. Except we defeated Daesh. We defeated Daesh in record time, but we had no wars.”
Trump rejected claims that he would start conflicts, declaring, “I’m not going to start a war, I’m going to stop the wars.”
He framed his victory as a triumph for “democracy” and “freedom,” saying, “We are going to unlock America’s glorious destiny, we’re going to achieve the most incredible future for our people.” Trump promised to make the U.S. “better than it ever has been,” sharing that after a July assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, he had been told “God spared my life for a reason.”
“That reason is to save our country and to return America to greatness,” he added, pledging to fulfill that mission.
Trump also called for healing, stating, “It’s time to put the divisions of the last four years behind us, it’s time to unite, and we’re going to try – we have to try – and it’s going to happen. Success will bring us together.”
He concluded with a simple send-off: “God bless you, and God bless America.”
UFC boss calls Trump ‘most resilient, hard working man’
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White, a vocal supporter of Donald Trump throughout the election campaign, was invited to speak next.
“Nobody deserves this more than him, and nobody deserves this more than his family does,” White began. He went on to describe what Trump had faced: “This is what happens when the machine comes after you. What you’ve seen over the last several years – this is what it looks like. Couldn’t stop him. He keeps going forward. He doesn’t quit. He’s the most resilient, hardworking man I’ve ever met in my life.”
White described the result as “karma.”
Trump, in turn, called White an “amazing guy” and expressed his appreciation for their close bond, saying, “We’ve been through so much together.”
