Diana’s brother worried about Kate Middleton conspiracy theories
Earl Charles Spencer voices concerns about the fading truth in media, reflecting on past and present royal family coverage amid rumors about Kate Middleton
Brother of the late Princess Diana, Earl Charles Spencer, has spoken out regarding the online conspiracy theories about Kate Middleton and emphasized the importance of truth in public discourse.
In a recent interview with BBC’s Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg, the Earl compared the media scrutiny his sister faced to the current rumors surrounding Middleton.
“I do worry about what happened to the truth,” Charles declared, addressing the speculation that has intensified since Middleton, the Princess of Wales, underwent a planned abdominal surgery in January. Following her surgery, Kensington Palace did not disclose specifics, sparking various rumors.
Reflecting on the circumstances surrounding his sister’s death in 1997, Charles noted, “I think it was more dangerous back in the day,” acknowledging the shock and public disapproval that ensued after Princess Diana’s death.
This tragic event, he pointed out, led to a reconsideration within the paparazzi industry, driven more by public reaction than moral judgment.
The controversy escalated recently when Kensington Palace released a photograph of Middleton with her children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis – which several news agencies later removed, citing editing concerns.
In response, Middleton apologized, explaining, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.”
Adding to the public scrutiny, the name of Rose Hanbury, a former close friend of Kate’s, has surfaced amid rumors of tension with the Royal Family.
These rumors began in 2019 and have resurfaced, complicating the narrative around Middleton’s current public absence.
Kate’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, defended the Palace’s transparency regarding Kate’s return to duties and praised her support system.
Despite these defenses, conspiracy theories have grown, some even questioning Middleton’s well-being, especially following her absence from recent public events like the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
