A Delta Air Lines passenger plane crash-landed and flipped upside down at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday, leaving at least eight people injured, including three in critical condition, according to Canadian media reports.

The Endeavor Flight 4819 from Minneapolis, carrying 80 passengers, crashed during landing operations in the aftermath of a severe winter storm that swept through eastern Canada over the weekend.

“Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Air Lines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for,” airport authorities announced on X, formerly Twitter.

Among the critically injured was a child, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Television footage captured passengers battling strong winds as they evacuated the overturned aircraft.

One passenger, John Nelson, documented the aftermath on Facebook, posting video of the upturned plane. “Our plane crashed. It’s upside down,” Nelson wrote, adding, “Most people appear to be okay. We’re all getting off.”

Delta Air Lines acknowledged the incident in a statement, saying the company was “aware” of reports that the flight had been “involved in an incident” and would provide additional information as it became available.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford expressed relief that there were no fatalities. “Local authorities are providing help,” Ford said.

The crash occurred as Toronto continued to experience strong winds and frigid temperatures following Sunday’s massive snowstorm. Federal Transport Minister Anita Anand confirmed there were 80 passengers aboard the flight.
