Authorities continue search for missing academic
The Chamber of Mechanical Engineers Izmir Branch released a written statement regarding the disappearance of Professor Ekren. The statement expressed deep concern, revealing that the London Consulate and British security forces are actively involved in the search efforts.
“Professor Ekren, one of our esteemed members, has been missing since November 26, 2024. British law enforcement agencies are diligently pursuing search operations, with close coordination from the London Consulate. As an organization, we are monitoring the situation closely and maintaining continuous communication with the relevant authorities,” the statement read.
Hope for safe return
The chamber extended gratitude to all the official bodies contributing to the search efforts, while offering heartfelt support to Professor Ekren’s family and loved ones.
“We hope for the safe return of our valued member, Professor Orhan Ekren, as soon as possible. We thank all institutions involved in the search process and assure the public that updates will be shared promptly. Our thoughts are with Professor Ekren’s family, friends, and all who care about him during this challenging time,” the statement concluded.
