Constant dialogue needed between Erdogan and Putin, says Kremlin
There will always be a need for contact between Erdogan and Putin, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov says in response to questions about possible talks
There is a constant need for dialogue between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said at a press conference Thursday.
“There is a constant need for dialogue between Putin and Erdogan. You know that there is an agreement that they will meet. The date has not yet been set, but it will be confirmed through diplomatic channels. This meeting will take place sooner or later,” Peskov said.
He also added that Putin and Erdogan were able to quickly have a telephone conversation and that the planned face-to-face meeting could also be scheduled.
Peskov also referred to the conflicts in Ukraine and stated that the Zelenskyy administration refused negotiations.
“As for some peace processes, there are still gaps here. You see processes that are difficult to explain completely with this peace formula of Zelenskyy. Some countries are negotiating an imaginary peace formula without Russia. This is a very strange process,” Peskov stated.
“There is nothing serious in this sense. In this sense, Kyiv has banned any negotiations at the legal level. We continue our special military operation,” he added.
