U.S. Secretary of State meets with Azerbaijan’s President, promoting environmental cooperation, revival of talks with Armenia
U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan on Saturday in a significant diplomatic encounter that reaffirmed the closeness of U.S.- Azerbaijan relations.
In order to promote environmental cooperation, the summit emphasized the United States’ support for Azerbaijan’s hosting of COP29 in November. The meeting’s main topics were those essential to reaching a long-term peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan, with Blinken urging the revival of constructive diplomatic talks.
Furthermore, in line with international standards, Blinken emphasized the significance of Azerbaijan’s dedication to human rights. An important turning point in diplomatic efforts to support and strengthen regional stability is this conversation.
