Belgium dispatches military aircraft carrying vital aid supplies for Gaza, marking a significant effort to support those in need amid ongoing humanitarian challenges

The military aircraft carrying humanitarian aid supplies from Belgium for Gazans departed for Jordan.

The A400M military transport plane, loaded with bundles containing food, hygiene products, and medical supplies, took off from the Melsbroek military airport in Brussels at 13:30 local time.

Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib, Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder, and Cooperation Minister Caroline Gennez bid the plane farewell.

The aircraft, carrying materials worth 500 million euros, will first arrive in Jordan with the assistance of the Belgian First Aid and Support Team (B-FAST).

Subsequently, with Jordan’s cooperation, the bundles will be parachuted to designated points north of Gaza.

Belgium had announced its intention to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza by air on March 1, following the attack by Israel on civilians awaiting aid deliveries through this method.

Israel’s attack on Palestinians awaiting humanitarian aid on Feb. 29 resulted in the loss of 118 lives.
