Over 50 government employees in Australia have publicly condemned the Australian government for its alleged complicity in the genocide against Palestinians. They have called on Canberra to halt all military exports to Israel.

In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, the employees expressed their deep concern that the Australian government is “leading the country to become an accomplice in another genocide, another colonial project and further war crimes, thereby tarnishing the country’s reputation.”

The letter urged the Australian government to take swift and decisive action to end its support for genocide, ethnic cleansing and the illegal occupation of Palestine by immediately stopping all military exports to Israel.

Citing warnings from the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, the letter noted: “State officials who do not cease exporting weapons or ammunition to Israel may be held criminally responsible for aiding and abetting war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide.”
