Armed attack in Nigeria leaves 42 dead, houses set on fire
Armed assailants on motorcycles raided residential areas Monday evening in the Wase region of Nigeria’s Plateau state, leaving at least 42 dead while many people were injured in the tragic incident.
It was also noted that houses in the area were set on fire.
According to the statement issued by the state authorities, the attackers opened fire on civilians.
It is known that there are lead and mineral deposits in Wase, where the attack occurred. Therefore, the incident has been linked to a rise in armed gang activities in the area.
