Anti-Islamic demonstration led by Jade Sandberg held in Sweden’s Linkoping
Jade Sandberg, also known as the “Cross Lady” and affiliated with the ACA, led an anti-Islamic demonstration in Stora Torget, Linkoping, Sweden, on October 26, 2024.
The demonstration attracted several participants voicing opposition to Islam in Sweden. The event was organized as part of Sandberg’s ongoing campaign against what she describes as the “Islamization” of Europe.
Demonstration sparks local attention, response
The protest in Linkoping garnered significant local attention, with a visible police presence, to maintain order. While there were no immediate reports of violence, counter-protesters opposing the anti-Islamic message were present in the square.
Authorities monitored the situation closely to ensure public safety.
Jade Sandberg, often referred to by her supporters as the “Cross Lady” because of her symbolic use of a cross in demonstrations, has been a prominent figure in Sweden’s anti-Islamic circles.
She recently burned the Holy Quran with a cross in her hand accompanied by police protection in the Swedish capital of Stockholm. This is not the first instance when the Quran is targeted in an act of desecration in Sweden.
Sandberg had committed the same provocation in Stockholm in February, but no action was taken against her by the Swedish authorities.
The woman used a megaphone to call for the banning of Islam in Europe during the act of discretion. The presence of Swedish police in the area to protect Sandberg and the Swedish authorities’ support for attacks against Islam under the name of “freedom of expression” has triggered criticism around the world.
Türkiye has officially called on Sweden to prevent attacks against Islam.
