Palestine Festival of Literature releases viral videos of stars supporting South Africa’s case against Israel at the ICJ

The Palestine Festival of Literature’s YouTube channel released six videos featuring 29 prominent actors reciting South Africa’s allegations against Israel at the International Court of Justice, showing support for the case.

Each video garnered significant attention, amassing thousands to hundreds of thousands of views on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

The lineup of actors presenting the charges included Khalid Abdalla and Tobias Menzies from the TV series “The Crown,” Charles Dance, Carice van Houten, and Lena Headey from “Game of Thrones.”

Israeli-born Adam Bakri, Jewish actor Wallace Shawn, and Cynthia Nixon, known for her hunger strike at the White House advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza, also contributed their voices to the cause.

The initiative was further bolstered by the participation of Oscar winner Susan Sarandon, known for her role in the 1995 film “Dead Man Walking,” Paapa Essiedu from “Murder on the Orient Express” and Wallace Shawn of the “Toy Story” series.

Additionally, Gbenga Akinnagbe, recognized for his performances in HBO’s “The Wire” and “The Deuce,” and Sepideh Moafi from “The Deuce,” lent their support to the significant effort.
