Led by Palestine Action and Youth Demand groups, the coordinated demonstration demanded both Conservative and Labour parties impose a complete arms embargo on Israel.

‘This ministry does not defend, it murders’

“This ministry does not defend, it murders… We can no longer tolerate the U.K.’s support for Israel’s armament, which leads to further violence,” ‘Youth Demand’ passionately stated.

They shared protest footage on social media.

Palestine Action highlighted that the ministry awards contracts worth hundreds of millions of British pounds to Elbit Systems and provides training to the Israeli military.

“The Ministry of Defense is stained with the color of Palestinian bloodshed from their ongoing dealings with the Israeli military and Elbit Systems,” they added.

The protest footage also captured police arresting the demonstrators.

In response, Defense Secretary Grant Shapps asserted that the Armed Forces “can’t and won’t be intimidated.”

Labeling the activists as “cowardly criminals,” Shapps expressed satisfaction at their arrest.

Youth Demand quoted Shapps, commenting: “Ah Yes Shapps, five people with some red paint are the real criminals, not those allowing the massacre of children, aid workers and doctors.”

Activists target electronic suppliers

Additionally, Palestine Action targeted electronic component supplier Avnet’s Berkshire facility early Wednesday, citing its supply of electronics for Elbit’s weaponry and F-35 fighter jets used by the Israeli military.

Images shared online depicted the building’s facade adorned with spray paint and broken windows.

Elbit Systems, Israel’s primary arms manufacturer, provides 85% of the land and air munitions utilized by its military.
