Brazilian authorities seized 792 kilograms (1,746 pounds) of cocaine hidden inside a container bound for Türkiye, valued at over $10.5 million, officials announced. The drugs were discovered in Sao Paulo, concealed in coffee bags inside the container.

Suspicious activity leads to discovery

The operation began when Brazilian patrol officers noticed suspicious activities at a container storage company in Baixada Santista.

Brazilian narcotics teams, acting on intelligence, traced the cocaine to the coffee bags, leading to a bust near the port as the truck carrying the container was stopped.

Santos port: A hub for cocaine trafficking

The Santos Port, one of Latin America’s busiest, has long been targeted by international drug cartels. In recent years, multiple cocaine shipments bound for Türkiye have been intercepted at the port, including 117 kg and 290 kg last year, and 242 kg the previous year.
