A World War I-era artillery shell was safely secured in a house in Bursa’s central Nilufer district.

The discovery was made when a family in Kayapa, a neighborhood in the district, contacted the Emergency Call Center, reporting the presence of the shell in their father’s home.

Counterterrorism and bomb disposal experts were immediately dispatched to the scene.

After a thorough examination, it was confirmed that the shell, measuring 40 centimeters in length and 12 centimeters in diameter, had not detonated.

The experts safely removed the shell from the premises.

Believed to date back to World War I, the artillery shell was safely secured by the bomb disposal team.
