World leaders congratulate Türkiye on 101st Republic Day anniversary
Leaders and governments around the world extended their congratulations to Türkiye on Tuesday, celebrating the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic. Major cities across Türkiye held parades and public gatherings to mark the occasion, uniting citizens in celebration.
Global leaders commend Türkiye’s progress
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, praising Türkiye’s advancements over the past century.
“Türkiye has entered its second century as a powerful, stable, and respected country in political, economic, and military spheres,” Aliyev wrote, adding that the country holds significant influence on the global stage.
He further expressed optimism about the continued strengthening of the strategic alliance between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, guided by the principle of “one nation, two states.”
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko also congratulated Erdogan, acknowledging Türkiye’s role in maintaining regional and global peace.
“Türkiye is progressing along the path of modernization and is playing an important role in preserving peace and stability,” Lukashenko noted.
NATO allies recognize Türkiye’s role
Several NATO allies took to social media to congratulate Türkiye on its Republic Day.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Best wishes to our NATO ally Türkiye and its people on Republic Day. Let’s continue working together to protect the international order and strengthen security in Europe and beyond.”
The Foreign Ministry of Latvia echoed this sentiment, writing: “Congratulations and best wishes to our partner and NATO ally Türkiye on Republic Day!”
Similarly, Romania’s Foreign Ministry shared its hopes for further deepening the “Strategic Partnership” with Türkiye, emphasizing cooperation for mutual benefits.
Greece and Poland extend their best wishes
The Greek Foreign Ministry also extended its congratulations to Türkiye, stating, “We congratulate the people and government of Türkiye on Republic Day.”
Poland’s Foreign Ministry added, “Warmest wishes of peace and prosperity to our friends and allies in Türkiye.”
Regional partners highlight strategic ties
Albania’s Foreign Ministry offered warm congratulations, pointing to the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between the two nations. “The partnership between Albania and Türkiye continues to grow stronger with each passing year,” the ministry said in its message.
Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry also joined in the well-wishes, congratulating Türkiye on its national day and reinforcing the bonds between the two countries.
Celebrations across Türkiye
Domestically, celebrations were held in major cities, including a significant event in the capital, Ankara. President Erdogan visited Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, to pay his respects.
The 101st-anniversary events are marked not only by public displays of national pride but also by reflections on Türkiye’s evolution into a key regional and global player, recognized and congratulated by allies and partners across the world.
