Water levels in Istanbul’s dams rise after rainfall

Following recent rainfall, water levels in Istanbul’s reservoirs have shown an upward trend, according to data from the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI).
As of February 16, the average water level in the city’s dams reached 61.42%, rising from 60.46% recorded the previous day.
Elmali reservoir nearly full, Sazlidere at lowest level
The highest water level was recorded at Elmali Dam, which is nearly full at 99.9% capacity. In contrast, Sazlidere Dam had the lowest water level, standing at 48.42%.

- Alibeykoy Dam: 49.73%
- Buyukcekmece Dam: 58.04%
- Darlik Dam: 59.88%
- Elmali Dam: 99.9%
- Istrancalar Dam: 67.01%
- Kazandere Dam: 77.21%
- Pabucdere Dam: 53.07%
- Sazlidere Dam: 48.42%
- Terkos Dam: 62.47%
- Omerli Dam: 69.31%
The rising water levels bring relief to the megacity as concerns over potential drought have lingered in recent months. However, experts continue to warn about the importance of water conservation, urging residents to adopt sustainable usage practices.
