VP Yılmaz optimistic about Turkish economy’s post-election trajectory
Deputy President Yilmaz underscores the importance of combating inflation, foreseeing tangible results in the second half of this year
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz commented on the Turkish economy following the local elections on March 31.
Emphasizing their dedication to implementing the Medium-Term Program, Yilmaz stated, “We will begin to see the results of our efforts to combat inflation significantly in the second half of this year.”
Essence of democracy embodied in Türkiye’s elections
Yilmaz emphasized that during this period, they would heal the wounds of earthquakes and prepare cities for the future in a much more resilient manner.
“We are increasing economic growth, employment, and exports while reducing our current account deficit. We are strengthening our structure with investment and production. Combating inflation is our top priority both economically and socially. We will achieve this by steadfastly implementing the program we announced last year.
‘We will prevent erosion of wage increases’
“We will start to see the results of our efforts to combat inflation significantly in the second half of this year. Thus, we will prevent the erosion of wage increases over time and ensure permanent prosperity. While making structural reforms in the economy, we will focus on improving the efficiency of public administration, raising our democratic standards, and establishing a more effective justice system. Our goal is to grow within democratic stability and to fairly distribute the benefits of growth to all segments.”
