Visa policies for Turkish citizens in Germany, Spain and Italy remain unchanged
The German, Spanish and Italian missions in Ankara have confirmed that there is no change in visa policies for Turkish citizens and visa applications are being accepted as usual
According to reports from the German, Spanish, and Italian missions in Ankara, there have been no changes to their visa policies for Turkish citizens. They are still processing visa applications as usual.
When questioned by an Anadolu reporter regarding the reported halt in visa application processes for Turkish citizens at the German, Spanish, and Italian embassies in Ankara, the responses were uniform and consistent.
Sources at the German Embassy in Ankara confirmed that visa policies have not changed recently and that the visa application system introduced in March remains operational.
They acknowledged that the number of visa applications has increased beyond appointment capacity, leading to longer waiting times for some visa categories.
However, they emphasized that visa applications continue to be accepted without any policy changes.
Similarly, sources at the Consulate General of Spain in Istanbul confirmed that visa services for Turkish citizens are continuing and daily visas are being issued.
They stated that appointments for May are fully booked and June appointments will be available soon.
Sources at the Italian Embassy in Ankara affirmed that visa processing for Turkish citizens will continue throughout the month of May and reiterated that visa applications will remain open.
They similarly acknowledged that there was a high demand close to the appointment quotas but assured that the system was functioning normally.
Sources have confirmed that appointments for June will be made available soon, stating, “It is exactly the same process. There is no closure due to these issues.”
These sources stressed that reports of the suspension of visa applications by Turkish citizens are not accurate, adding that they remain committed to addressing the backlog of applications and keeping visa procedures open.
