Tuva Cihangir Atasever is bracing to become Türkiye’s second astronaut, as he is scheduled to embark on a flight to the edge of space in the coming months.

This significant event follows the successful completion of Türkiye’s inaugural space mission by Alper Gezeravci, who became the nation’s first astronaut after a three-week mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Atasever’s forthcoming suborbital flight in April aboard a rocket plane operated by Virgin Galactic further solidifies Türkiye’s presence in space exploration.

Virgin Galactic, founded by British billionaire Richard Branson in 2004, represents a pioneering venture in commercial space travel.

During his suborbital journey, Atasever is set to conduct seven scientific experiments, showcasing Türkiye’s commitment to advancing scientific research in space.
