Turks favor Trump over Harris in US presidential race: survey
A survey in Türkiye, conducted by MetroPOLL Research, has revealed that Turks largely favor Donald Trump in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, with the highest support coming from voters of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party.
Conducted from October 9-15, the survey involved 1,483 participants and utilized a computer-assisted telephone method. The results indicate that 32.6% of respondents support Trump, while 24.7% back Kamala Harris.
Türkiye’s nationalist party voter backs Trump
The survey highlights that DEM Party voters show the most enthusiasm for a Trump victory, with 41.6% expressing a desire for him to win. In addition, following the DEM Party, the voters of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), the nationalist ally of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), are the most supportive of Trump in the U.S. elections.
In contrast, opposition Good Party voters demonstrated the least support for Trump and the most support for Harris.
Overall, 32.6% of Turkish voters expect Trump to win the election, while 24.7% anticipate a Harris victory.
Additionally, 19% of respondents stated they do not follow American politics, and 23.7% did not provide a response.
