In a surprising development following the March 2024 local elections, the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) has been relegated to second place in the latest poll.

This shift has raised significant concerns about its economic policies and future political strategies. The survey, conducted by the IdeaPolitik Institute across 26 cities, included 1,824 respondents who were asked: “Which party would you vote for if there were an election tomorrow?”

A quarter of the respondents, totaling 25.5%, indicated they were indecisive, marking the largest group. The main opposition party, the Republican People’s Party (CHP), followed with 21.6%.

Interestingly, the pro-PKK Green Left Party (YSP), informally known as the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), experienced a notable rise in support, securing 12.4% of the vote.
