Türkiye – Indonesia security cooperation
Defense and security cooperation between Turkiye and Indonesia have gained momentum in recent years.
In February 2023, Turkiye’s then-Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar and Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto signed a “Military Cooperation Implementation Plan.”
The two countries have a defense industry cooperation agreement signed in 2010. This close relationship is also reflected in the existence of a defense dialogue forum between Indonesia and Turkiye, initiated in 2020 (Indonesia-Turkiye Defense Dialogue Meeting). Following the agreement signed in 2010, the two countries entered into various collaborations including sales of various products, technology transfer, and joint production.
Within the scope of close defense relations between the two nations, Turkiye has conducted sales of various products such as UAVs, armored vehicles, weapon systems, and defense software.
