Türkiye’s Narkocelik-38 operation nets 316 arrests, 580 kg of drugs seized
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced Thursday that 316 suspects were arrested and authorities seized 580 kilograms of drugs along with 121,970 drug pills during the “Narkocelik-38” operations conducted across 50 provinces.
In a social media statement, Yerlikaya revealed the operations targeted drug traffickers, local criminal organizations and drug manufacturers in provinces including Ankara, Izmir and Antalya.
The large-scale crackdown, coordinated by the General Directorate of Security’s Narcotic Crimes Department, involved 790 teams, 1,910 personnel, 14 aircraft and 17 narcotic detection dogs.
Minister Yerlikaya commended the security forces and stated: “I want our nation to know we are fully committed to ridding our country of drug traffickers and street dealers.”
