Türkiye’s main opposition leader to meet former main opposition leader
Türkiye’s main opposition leader Ozgur Ozel will meet with former opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu.Within the scope of preparations for the charter convention, Ozel made statements regarding the convention to be held between September 4-9 and stated that this convention will go down in history with an important reference and will be held with wide participation.
Ozel announced that he will hold a meeting with former CHP Chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu on the statute. “I will meet with Mr. Kilicdaroglu this evening to inform him about the bylaws and get his suggestions. I will present these suggestions to the bylaws commission tomorrow morning,” he said.
Türkiye’s main opposition leader Ozgur Ozel spoke at the Ankara Provincial Advisory Council Meeting, where he assessed challenges the party faced following the May 14 and 28 elections.
Ozel stated, “A year ago today, our situation was not good. We failed to achieve the desired results in the May 14 and 28 elections, and we could not secure a parliamentary majority. Hope in the eyes of the youth had almost faded.”
Noting that demands for change within the party increased after the electoral defeats, Ozel said, “We believed that change was needed in this process. Change will occur, but we will build its content on solid foundations.” He also underlined the need to listen to the voice of the organization and respect its will in internal party decisions.

Statements on alliances and Erdogan’s visit
Regarding alliances, Ozel said, “We are not in an understanding that completely rejects alliances, but we do not need any alliance. We possess a robust alliance, known as the Alliance of Turkiye. Responding to criticism about the President’s visit to CHP Headquarters, Ozel said that the Turkish flag with forceps had not been used for a long time but that this flag was used during the President’s visit as per protocol.
