Türkiye’s local high-speed train to undergo testing by late 2025
Türkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced that the locally produced high-speed train will undergo dynamic testing by late 2025 after completing its factory static tests. The train, produced by Turasas, will reach speeds of up to 225 kilometers per hour and will feature eight cars with a total passenger capacity of 584.
In his written statement, Uraloglu highlighted that the national high-speed train is being developed entirely with local resources. He added that design work will be completed by the end of this year, and assembly will begin with dynamic testing expected to start in the last quarter of 2025.
Uraloglu emphasized that the high-speed trains are designed for maximum comfort and represent a significant step for Türkiye’s future. He noted that Türkiye is now a self-sufficient country in rail vehicle production and has advanced to a position where it designs, manufactures, and develops rail technology.
The trains will feature cutting-edge technology, including integrated ghost screen technology in doors and partition walls, contactless rapid charging stations, comfortable leather and fabric seating, 3D ghost screens in the bistro area, indirect lighting and a spacious interior.
Additionally, Uraloglu mentioned that the “National Control System and Train Management System,” developed in collaboration with TUBITAK Rail Transportation Technologies Institute, will be used in the high-speed train project. This system ensures that critical components of the train are produced with local capabilities. The project is expected to move into the assembly phase by the last quarter of 2024 after completing all design processes.
