SEDEC 2024, showcasing the forefront of the homeland and border security sector, will be held at Ankara ATO Congresium from May 21 to 23

Ankara will once again serve as a venue for prominent figures in national security and border protection. In collaboration with Anadolu Agency (AA)’s Global Communication Partner, the Ankara ATO Congresium will host the SEDEC 2024 conference from May 21 to May 23.

Since its inception, SEDEC has organized visits for foreign procurement authorities to Ankara, widely recognized as the central hub of the sector, under the motto “Target Export”.

The event in 2022 facilitated 5800 business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) meetings. After the event, companies continued to provide goods and services to foreign procurement authorities through established connections.

Following SEDEC 2022, foreign delegations continued to hold meetings with companies for an extended period.

Companies will strengthen their export ties with SEDEC delegations this year. Companies that export more will improve their capabilities and expand their product portfolio, particularly in the high-tech homeland security industry.

Hilal Unal, Chair of the SEDEC Organizing Committee, announced that they have extended invitations to delegates from over 80 countries, with a particular emphasis on South America, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East. Their objective is to surpass the previous record for international participation.

Unal emphasized the strategic significance of SEDEC as an event that focuses on exporting. He stated, “We have increased our endeavors to export advanced systems and equipment to countries that are friendly and allied in these regions.”

Countries are increasing their financial allocation to the security sector in response to escalating global conflicts. This is a result of the rapid advancement of technology in the security and defense industries.

SEDEC allows participating companies to achieve their export goals in this collaborative environment.

Hilal Ünal stated that SEDEC 2024 has extended invitations to prominent international players such as Boeing, Airbus, Tawazun Holding, Thales, BAE Systems, and KAI.

The purpose of this invitation is to establish connections between Turkish suppliers and the supply chain of foreign Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), focusing particularly on facilitating exports.

Domestic, international business opportunities for local producers

SEDEC provides a highly efficient platform that directly links producers with various government entities such as the Ministry of Interior, the General Command of Gendarmerie, the General Directorate of Security, the Coast Guard Command, the Ministry of National Defense, and its associated organizations, including the Land, Sea, and Air Forces Commands, the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), and the National Intelligence Organization.

This platform allows producers in key industries to quickly establish supply chain connections at the small and medium enterprise (SME) level.

Supported by SSB and the Defense and Aerospace Industry Exporters’ Association, SEDEC 2024 will concentrate on shaping the future of the security sector in areas like homeland security, border security, internal security systems, and defense supply chain topics.

The event will facilitate meetings between foreign original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and first- and second-level suppliers with Turkish security and defense industry companies.

Turkish companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), will present their capabilities and accomplishments to foreign participants in a more intimate manner.

A conference on supply chain topics related to homeland security, border security, and internal security systems will take place on the first day of the event.
