Türkiye’s exports to UAE soar by $415 million in August
Türkiye‘s exports to the United Arab Emirates saw a significant rise in August 2024, with a $415 million increase compared to the same period last year.
According to data compiled by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the UAE became the country with the highest export growth for Türkiye during the month.
In total, Türkiye’s exports to UAE reached $767.6 million in August, reflecting a notable improvement in bilateral relations between the two nations. Overall, Türkiye’s exports increased by 2.4% year-on-year, reaching $22.1 billion.
Türkiye’s export growth destinations
Aside from the UAE, other countries that saw significant increases in Turkish exports included Romania with $138.8 million, the United Kingdom with $126.3 million, Slovenia with $124 million, and the State of Palestine with $117.8 million.
In August, Türkiye exported $767.6 million to the UAE, $649.8 million to Romania, $1.1 billion to the U.K., $224.9 million to Slovenia, and approximately $128 million to Palestine.

Türkiye’s export to UAE charts
The UAE ranked as the sixth-largest export destination for Türkiye in August, with the top five being Germany, the U.S., the U.K., Iraq and Italy.
Türkiye exported goods and services worth approximately $1.5 billion to Germany, $1.1 billion to both the U.S. and the U.K., $927.2 million to Iraq, and $802.5 million to Italy during the same period.
Jewelry sector leads exports to UAE
The jewelry sector was the leading contributor to Türkiye’s exports to the UAE, with $521.9 million in sales.
Other sectors contributing to exports included chemicals and chemical products ($29.1 million), machinery and components ($25.9 million), electrical and electronics ($19.8 million), and ready-to-wear and apparel ($16.6 million).
Corum leads regional exports to UAE
On a regional basis, Corum led Türkiye’s exports to the UAE with $429.4 million in August, followed by Istanbul ($205.1 million), Ankara ($21.7 million), Kocaeli ($18.1 million) and Izmir ($17.1 million).

Development Road Project to boost trade
The Development Road Project, which includes Türkiye, Iraq, Qatar and the UAE, is expected to further enhance trade in the region.
The project, linking the Persian Gulf to Europe, is projected to reduce transportation time by 12 to 15 days, while also cutting transportation costs.
