Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan attended the Contact Group meeting on Gaza established by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League in Saudi Arabia.
Fidan met with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi and his Norwegian counterpart Eide.

According to diplomatic sources, decisions to be taken at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Summit on May 4 were discussed at the meeting.
Typical steps to be taken in the process of recognizing Palestine as a state were discussed. In this context, elements of pressure that could be applied against Israel and countries supporting Israel were evaluated.
Fidan met with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi and his Norwegian counterpart Espen Barth Eide.
Minister Fidan also met with European Commission Vice President Josep Borrell during the bilateral meetings. In a statement on his social media account, Borrell said that he had a good conversation with Fidan about Türkiye-EU relations and emphasized the need for cooperation and the continuation of the relationship, stating: “We agreed on the urgent addressing of regional issues and especially ending the suffering in Gaza.”
Minister Fidan also called with Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed Mustafa. The current situation in Gaza and the West Bank was discussed during the meeting while the efforts for more countries to recognize the State of Palestine were evaluated.
