Türkiye’s defense and aerospace industry achieved a monumental feat in May, reaching a record-breaking monthly export figure of $876 million.

This remarkable surge, announced by the Secretary of Turkish Defense Industries (SSB) on Monday, marks a substantial 59% increase from the previous month.

Haluk Gorgun, the Secretary of Turkish Defense Industries, expressed pride in the sector’s growth, highlighting not only the sustained expansion but also the elevation of the country’s value-added export rate.

Gorgun noted the export value per kilogram surpassed $65, underscoring Türkiye’s prowess in high-tech exports.

The growth trajectory of Turkish defense and aerospace exports remains robust, with a notable 9% increase from last year, totaling $2.2 billion for the period of January to May, as reported by Gorgun.

This surge in defense and aerospace exports aligns with Türkiye’s broader economic performance. Bolat announced on Monday that the country’s exports soared to a record-high May figure of $24.1 billion, reflecting the country’s resilience and dynamism in global trade.

The impressive surge in defense and aerospace exports not only underscores Türkiye’s growing influence in the global market but also signifies the sector’s pivotal role in driving economic growth and innovation within the country.
