While Türkiye maintains strict measures against terrorist elements along its borders, it has been reported that Bafel Talabani, known for supporting terrorists in Sulaymaniyah, has fled to London.

Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler had previously stated: “Bafel Talabani is continuously warned about the increase in terrorist activities in Sulaymaniyah. We monitor all his actions and activities.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has consistently emphasized that Türkiye will not permit the establishment of a terrorist state along its borders. The Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) continue to neutralize PKK terrorist elements through targeted air operations.

Despite the stringent control measures against terrorism in the region, journalist Cetin Cetiner reported, “Minister of National Defense Guler, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, and President Erdogan have directly warned the Talabani family. As of yesterday (Wednesday), Bafel Talabani has fled Sulaymaniyah and is now in London.”

Minister Guler had previously issued warnings to Talabani regarding his support for terrorist activities.

“Bafel Talabani is repeatedly warned about the escalation of terrorist activities in Sulaymaniyah. We have urged him to sever ties with terrorist organizations, warning that it will ultimately be detrimental to him.”

“We are fully aware of all their actions and activities. These concerns have been shared with our Iraqi and KDP partners. However, we prefer not to take harsher measures. These warnings have been communicated openly and repeatedly, yet no corrective actions have been taken,” stated Minister Guler.
