Türkiye will claim its rightful place in emerging world order: Parliament Speaker

Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Numan Kurtulmus stated that a new world order is emerging, and Türkiye will position itself according to its aspirations rather than being placed by others.
“A new world will be established, and Türkiye, by Allah’s will, will not sit where it is told to, but where it desires to be. For this, we must collectively align toward our common goals,” Kurtulmus said during an iftar program with civil society organizations at the Turkish Parliament.
Türkiye’s role in changing global landscape
Kurtulmus highlighted the importance of Türkiye’s strategic position in the evolving global order, emphasizing that the country is at a historic turning point.
“Our goal is to ensure the continued progress of our nation and to contribute to the establishment of a new world where humanity can live in peace and prosperity,” he stated.
Pointing to Türkiye’s centennial vision, Kurtulmus described the “Century of Türkiye” as a period in which the nation’s voice will carry weight and its power will influence global affairs.

A multipolar world and Türkiye’s aspirations
He emphasized that the world is transitioning into a multipolar era, where no single country or alliance can dictate global affairs alone.
“The upcoming period will mark the beginning of a truly multipolar world. No longer can one country or a coalition single-handedly rule the world. We are entering an era where influence will be more evenly distributed,” Kurtulmus said.
Türkiye, he noted, is well-positioned to navigate this transition with strength and maturity.
“We often hear the phrase ‘a new world will be established, and Türkiye will have its place in it.’ We are precisely at such a juncture. Türkiye will not merely accept the role it is given but will shape its own future,” he affirmed.

Need for new strategies
Kurtulmus highlighted the necessity of moving beyond traditional policies and developing new strategies that align with contemporary global realities.
“We cannot move forward solely by relying on past solutions. Even if past strategies were successful, we must develop new approaches to address the challenges of the future,” he said.
This, he added, requires collaboration among universities, research centers, policymakers, and civil society organizations to create forward-thinking solutions that ensure Türkiye’s continued prominence on the world stage.

Role of civil society in global justice
Kurtulmus pointed to the role of civil society in mobilizing global public opinion on humanitarian issues, particularly in the case of Gaza.
“We have seen how civil society movements worldwide have become the voice of justice, despite governmental suppression and media blackouts. Protests supporting the Palestinian cause have emerged in major Western cities, driven by the conscience of the people,” he observed.
He urged civil society organizations to work with their international counterparts to contribute to a more just global order.
“If we can align our efforts, we will strengthen the stance Türkiye has taken in support of the oppressed and ensure that our humanitarian policies have a lasting impact,” Kurtulmus concluded.

Türkiye’s vision for stronger future
Kurtulmus reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to becoming a powerful and influential nation, not only in its region but globally.
“We are building a century where Türkiye’s voice will be strong and its power will be impactful. Not just in the region, but on the world stage,” he stated.
The iftar event was attended by representatives from leading civil society organizations, business leaders, and political figures, reinforcing the shared vision of a prosperous and influential Türkiye.
