Türkiye, Uzbekistan boost defense ties at Eurosatory 2024
During the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris, Turkish weapons manufacturer Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) held critical meetings with the Uzbekistan Defense Industry Agency to evaluate existing collaborations and discuss future projects. The discussions particularly focused on transferring the capability to produce NATO-caliber ammunition to Uzbekistan.
The meetings included a thorough analysis of the current defense industry cooperation between the two countries and detailed discussions on steps to further strengthen this partnership. The transfer of NATO-standard ammunition production capabilities to Uzbekistan holds strategic importance for both parties.
In a statement, MKE said: “Our long-standing cooperation with Uzbekistan in the defense industry will be further solidified with these new initiatives. As MKE, we are very pleased to share our advanced technology and expertise with our friendly and brotherly country, Uzbekistan. This cooperation will significantly contribute to the mutual strengthening of our defense capacities.”
