- Transportation networks: Developing regional transportation and logistics networks, including projects within the Middle Corridor initiative, which connects Asia and Europe.
The discussions are expected to culminate in the signing of the Ankara Declaration and an attached Action Plan, outlining a concrete roadmap for future collaboration among the three nations.
Middle Corridor initiative highlighted
Fidan is expected to emphasize the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor, noting its potential to address supply chain disruptions between Asia and Europe.
The corridor, involving Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan, could significantly reduce transportation times and costs, offering economic benefits to the Turkic world and surrounding regions.
The first meeting of this format was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Aug. 2, 2022. The trilateral platform was established to strengthen economic, transportation and energy connectivity among Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan, all of which are strategically located along the historic Silk Road route.
