Türkiye is aiming to complete its “terror-free Türkiye” initiative by the end of June, as efforts continue to secure a final disarmament and the formal dissolution of the PKK terrorist organization.

The process is being led through direct talks with imprisoned terrorist PKK ringleader Abdullah Ocalan, with Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MP Pervin Buldan confirming that a new round of dialogue is imminent.

Speaking in Rome on Saturday, Buldan, who is part of the Imrali delegation, said, “We expect this process to succeed in a few months, by the end of June. This expectation is shared both by Ocalan and by state officials.”

Another visit to Imrali planned

Buldan noted that an additional visit to Imrali Island is planned. “After returning from Rome, we’ll meet with the Minister of Justice, and then most likely hold another meeting with Ocalan,” she stated.

European support considered crucial

Highlighting the importance of international engagement, Buldan called for greater European support. “Every country can contribute in its own way. The backing of European nations will significantly enhance this process,” she said.

‘There are no losers in peace’

Buldan concluded by underlining the broader vision of coexistence between Turkish and Kurdish communities: “Support for this initiative will help build peace. We all know peace has no losers—but everyone stands to gain.”
