Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Oncu Keceli stated that the charge d’affaires of the Iranian Embassy in Ankara was invited to the ministry to address various issues and claims made by Iranian officials regarding Türkiye.

Keceli emphasized that the ministry regularly engages in dialogue with Iranian officials. He confirmed that the charge d’affaires was invited to the ministry today for discussions on bilateral matters.

During the meeting, Keceli noted that while bilateral relations were reviewed, certain allegations made by Iranian officials against Türkiye were also discussed.

Keceli further remarked that Iranian officials’ criticisms of Türkiye have primarily been expressed publicly in recent times. He pointed out that the ministry had previously shared a detailed dossier on these matters with the Iranian authorities.

We believe that foreign policy issues should not be politicized for domestic purposes. In this regard, we prefer to communicate important messages directly to the relevant parties. We followed this approach in today’s meeting. Türkiye values its relationship with Iran, and strengthening ties between the two countries remains a priority.
