Türkiye and Turkmenistan inked a significant energy deal during the Antalya Diplomatic Forum

Türkiye signed an important energy agreement with Turkmenistan at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum on Friday.

The memorandum of understanding signed with Turkmenistan envisages natural gas transportation from Turkmenistan to Europe via Anatolia.

Additionally, a declaration of intent was signed to strengthen cooperation in hydrocarbons further. These agreements aim to contribute to regional and global energy security by establishing strategic cooperation in the energy sector.

The memorandum of understanding signed during the talks held at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum opens the doors to essential cooperation between Türkiye and Turkmenistan in the energy sector. This agreement aims to transport gas to Europe via Türkiye safely and effectively, taking advantage of Turkmenistan’s rich natural gas reserves.

Türkiye has taken this cooperation step to increase energy supply security, diversify, and create a sustainable energy policy.

Cooperation in hydrocarbons, strengthened by the declaration of intent, aims to form the basis for standard practices in the energy sector.

With this agreement, Türkiye and Turkmenistan have agreed to collaborate in the energy sector through technology transfer, experience sharing, and joint ventures.
